Reading and site security

The hosting service and security provider may process request information such as IP address, browser details, requested pages and time to operate the site and prevent abuse. The reading and number tools calculate in your browser. Their inputs are not submitted to the reading desk and are not saved when you leave the page.

Messages

When the contact form is enabled, we store the name, reply email and message you supply so the desk can handle the inquiry. An email relay sends a notification to the editorial inbox. We do not need student numbers, transcripts, identity documents or passwords. Please do not send them. Messages are retained while handling the inquiry and any continuing correspondence. Ask the desk to remove an earlier message using the contact page.

Security checks and administrator access

Forms use Cloudflare Turnstile when configured. Cloudflare processes security signals to distinguish legitimate requests from abuse; its own privacy terms apply. Administrator sign-in uses a necessary session cookie lasting up to 24 hours. Failed sign-in records include the submitted username, IP address and time, retained for up to seven days to limit password guessing. Rate-limit records are short lived.

Shopping links

A shopping link may take you to Amazon, a CJ advertiser, an eBay seller or an approved partner. The merchant or affiliate network can use cookies and identifiers to attribute a referral according to its own policies. Clicking is optional. Read their policies before purchasing. Our first-party click counter records the day, placement, product key, page path and aggregate count, not the reader's name or email. Short-lived rate-limit keys help reject abuse. These counts do not establish that a click came from a unique person.

You can read the site without contacting us or following shopping links. Use your browser controls to manage cookies. Contact the reading desk for access or deletion questions about a message. We do not sell contact messages. We will update this note when the way the site handles information changes.
